About Jennifer

Jennifer Gilbert Newby is a native and lifelong resident of Boyle County. She is the daughter of Bennie & Terry (Rye) Gilbert. Jennifer attended Boyle County Schools, and graduated from Boyle County High School in 1992. She later earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kentucky in 1996.

Jennifer is married to Robb Newby. They are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Paige and Jenna, who both attend Woodlawn Elementary School. Together, Jennifer and Robb operate a beef cattle farm in Boyle County.

Jennifer has dedicated herself first to being an involved Mom to Paige and Jenna. However, in addition to helping manage the family farm, she is an entrepreneur who has successfully operated as a consultant of a home-based marketing business.

The Newby family make their home at 409 Valleybrook Drive in the Streamland subdivision north of Danville. They are active members of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Jennifer's Experience

Jennifer is passionate about leading by serving others, and considers it one of her life missions to use her God-given talents to serve through a variety of volunteer opportunities. Her record of service prepares her to be a leader on the Boyle County School Board!

-- Woodlawn Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), August 2008- June 2012 (Vice President, 2008 - 2010; President, 2010 - 2012)

-- Boyle County 4H Supporter & Volunteer, 2004 - Present

Jennifer's New Ideas

TRANSPARENCY: School board meeting agendas, minutes, and financial reports should be posted and archived on the school district's website for public review and accountability.

TRAFFIC SAFETY: School traffic congestion on the Danville Bypass and Woodlawn/BCMS campuses must be resolved for the safety of our school children and their drivers, especially before the new KY 2168 Connector brings a new flow of school traffic on the Bypass from the north.

JOBS: Children must be educated today to be ready to work in tomorrow's jobs. All education is "vocational education" as it must prepare a child to succeed in the workplace.
